Flickr is holding a call for the best photos, as judged by a group of professional photographers on Flickr. It’s called the “Blink of an Eye” contest, and it’s giving me a hard time, because each user can only submit one image to the group.

The gadget community is abuzz with the news that the Opera web browser is coming to the Nintendo DS, but have we really thought about the implications yet? With this, Opera and Nintendo are making the DS much more than a simple gaming system. (more…)
I think the 3D desktop concept is beginning to go too far. I was looking at this video today of the “BumpTop” 3D tablet PC type interface which mimics the way documents are “organized” in a real-world desktop. People ask me, if I’m already living in Miami, why I’m moving to the backwoods city of Orlando, known for theme parks like Walt Disney World and essentially nothing else. My answer is, they obviously do not know Orlando. (more…)
With all the headlines file-sharing garners these days, I find it interesting that old-fashioned offline methods of sharing music have essentially gone unnoticed. Instead of risking a strong-arm lawsuit from the RIAA by searching peer-to-peer sites, you can find a wealth of free music at a place from some of the tech-minded public might have forgotten: your local public library system.
